Wingate freshman Hamza Chahid, representing Morocco, won the men's 3,000-meter title in 8:00.35 at the NCAA Division 2 Indoor Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Chahid also anchored the distance medley relay to victory in 9:42.81, teaming with Lars Laros, Deon Sumpter and Jakob Rettschlag to lead Wingate to its first title in the DMR.
