Adams State University Athletics - Grizzlies Win National Championship

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Adams State University Women's Indoor Track and Field team won the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship with 67 points.
 
The women's team finished day one with 20 points.
 
In day two, Kayon Robinson won first place in the 400 meters with a time of 53.90 seconds, breaking the JDL Fast Track record time of 54.32. Robinson finished in third place in the 200 meters with a time of 23.98 seconds.
 
The Grizzlies had two athletes earn points in the 3000 meters. Alicia Nelson won first place with a time of 9:41.09. Lauren Martin finished in eighth place with a time of 9:48.94.
 
Maura O'Brien finished in second place in the mile with a time of 4:51.34. Sunayna Wahi finished in seventh place in the 60 meters with a time of 7.68 seconds. Chante Roberts finished in sixth place in the 800 meters with her time of 2:11.02. Ackiesha Burnett finished in sixth place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.43 seconds. The 1600 meter relay team of Serena CaneganJessica Scherrer, Roberts, and Robinson finished in fifth place with a time of 3:49.02.
