Adams State featured in RunnerSpace.com video series

RunnerSpace.com profiles coach Martin, Grizzly distance program

Fans of Adams State cross country and track & field now have an all access pass to one of the most successful collegiate distance running programs in the country thanks to an eight part “Training With Adams State” series that will be featured on RunnerSpace.com.

The first episode in the series, “The Workout”, debuted Friday, March 4, and the second, “History and Community,” was released today.

A RunnerSpace film crew consisting of Matt Barreau and Ian Terpin were on campus for several days in mid-February, during which time they followed the team on daily runs, workouts, in the weight room and training room and conducted interviews in order to capture what the Grizzly programs are all about.

“We are very excited to bring some much deserved extra attention to this amazing team,” said RunnerSpace.com founder Ross Krempley via e-mail.

The pilot episode of the series followed the Grizzlies’ distance runners on a controlled effort workout on the dirt roads near Alamosa, Colo. shortly after a portion of the group returned from competition at the Univ. of Washington Husky Classic in Seattle.

Remaining episodes in the series will continue to look into the philosophies and practices that have helped the program to claim 43 national titles between cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field, while also highlighting aspects of Alamosa and Adams State College that make the town an ideal location for distance runners looking to excel.
